NAIL CAN HILL, ALBURY –
Pete’s Trail x Ridge Trail x Polkinghorne’s Trail
Hazard Reduction Burn – Saturday 2 April 2016
The NSW Rural Fire Service will conduct a hazard reduction burn on Nail Can Hill, off Centaur Rd, commencing on Saturday 2 April 2016 at 10am. An area of approximately 60 hectares will be burnt within Pete’s Trail, Ridge Trail and Polkinghorne’s Trail.
The burn will reduce the fuel load in this vicinity. Reducing the fuel load in areas that interface the bush helps reduce the intensity of fires that may impact these areas.
The burn will be undertaken by the NSW Rural Fire Service, subject to weather conditions.
Some smoke will be generated as a result of the burn, so please keep windows closed to prevent smoke from entering your home. Remove washing from clotheslines and if your health is affected by smoke, remain indoors during the burn.
Members of the public should refrain from using the walking trails and bicycle tracks in the area on the day of the burn and for several days following.
The burn may continue over the following week.
